Gift for Christ 2010 (November 22, 2009)

The GFC offering is a vital offering for Living Hope missions.  With the money given, Living Hope is allowed to financially help some missionaries on the field and send our own missionaries out.  In 2010, the Missions Committee have a big vision for Living Hope.  Besides helping various missions agencies, Living Hope is planning to take 11 mission trips.  The committee is looking at the following areas: Taiwan, Central Asia, South Asia, Scotland, Costa Rica, Japan, East Asia, France, Ukraine, Niger, and North Africa.  The goal for 2010 is $125,000.  If we reach this goal, Living Hope will be able to go to places where people are in spiritual darkness and desperately need to hear the saving message of the Gospel.  This goal is obtainable.  We have about 1000 active giving units in our church (families and singles).  If each unit would commit to giving $125 for the offering, the goal will easily be met.  If more is raised, more trips will be added - meaning more people in our world will hear about Christ.

Examples of how the Gift for Christ was used in 2009

GFC helped provide financial support for the Kindbergs as they work with Wycliff in Central and South America.

GFC supports our Baptist Association here in Warren County as it seeks to unite Southern Baptist churches in this area to reach the community with the Gospel.

GFC supports the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.  These offerings help financially support our Southern Baptist missionaries in the field.

GFC provides financial support for Hope House, a local inner city ministry, as they help the less fortunate in Bowling Green.

GFC provided the means for Living Hope to offer five international trips and send over 100 missionaries out to the mission field.
